Literally: "How did you wake up?"
A warm way to say good morning, especially in the Venezuelan Andes and countryside.
I'm Victor, a Spanish teacher from Caracas, Venezuela. I help adults who always wanted to speak Spanish finally do it, at a calm pace, with the same friendly face and the same time slot each week.
A free, relaxed video call. We talk about why you want Spanish and I check your level. No pressure to sign up.
Same day and hour every week, so Spanish becomes part of your routine instead of something you have to remember.
The same Google Meet link every time. It opens in your browser. Nothing to download, nothing to reset.
We talk about what interests you: travel, food, family, the news, your plans. Grammar comes in when it helps you say what you want.
When something is confusing, I explain it in plain English. Mistakes are part of the class, not a problem.
Need to move a class? Send me a WhatsApp at least 24 hours before and we find another time.
No rotating tutors and no starting over. I remember your story, your goals and where we left off.
My full name is Victor Javier Hernández, and some of my students know me as Javier. I'm 37, I live in Caracas, Venezuela, and I've been teaching languages online since 2014. Since then I've worked with more than 2,500 students.
I studied journalism at Universidad Católica Santa Rosa in Caracas. Journalism taught me two things I use in every class: how to ask good questions, and how to really listen to the answers. From 2016 to 2019 I also taught English in the open language courses of the School of Modern Languages at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
What I enjoy most about teaching adults is the conversation. People who have lived full lives have so much perspective to share, and I learn a lot by listening. My job is to help you tell those stories in Spanish.
Over the years I've also learned that a weekly class can be about more than grammar. I love it when a lesson becomes a place to laugh, to share a story that matters to you, and simply to be heard. That's the kind of class I want to give you.
My family comes from the Venezuelan Andes. Venezuela is famous for its Caribbean beaches, but I'm a mountain person: cool weather, morning fog, a good book and some music. In my free time I play bass, read, meditate, and enjoy a game of ping pong.

Book the free callIn Spain and Latin America, a tertulia is a regular get-together where friends talk about life, books, news and whatever comes up. I'm starting one online, in easy Spanish.
Groups open once enough people at each level sign up. Send me a message with your name and I'll let you know first.
Message me on WhatsAppNo. Several of my longest-running students are in their 50s, 60s and 70s. Adults bring patience and real reasons to learn, which helps a lot. What matters most is practicing regularly, and a weekly class gives you that.
Yes. An app can't hold a conversation with you or notice what you find hard. Here you talk with a real person who adapts every class to you.
A computer, tablet or phone with a camera, and an internet connection. You click the Google Meet link I send you. That's it.
Caracas, Venezuela. From March to November it's the same time as New York. In winter, Caracas is one hour ahead of Eastern Time. I have morning and afternoon slots for US students.
Tell me at least 24 hours before and we move it to another time that month. Classes missed without notice count as taken.
Yes. A month of weekly classes is a thoughtful gift for a parent, partner or friend. Write to me and I'll arrange it.
